Mr. Geier will lead Shine as it pursues an ambitious strategy to broaden and deepen impact for early learning, Head Start, and child care throughout the country. Geier has served as Vice President for Shine Advance since November 2019.
“This is an exciting step for Shine Early Learning as we continue to grow our impact in early childhood education. Under Charlie’s leadership, Shine Advance went from our first initiative, SPARK Learning Lab in Indiana, to now having a presence in more than 10 states and municipalities throughout the country,” said Reggie Bicha, President of Shine Early Learning. “We’ve expanded our offerings beyond training and technical support for child care programs participating in state quality rating systems to now include mental health consultation, state-level policy work and an online knowledge hub for early learning providers.”
Prior to joining Shine Early Learning, Charlie served as Vice President of Impact Data Solutions and Statewide Advocacy for the Indiana Youth Institute, where he led statewide research, evaluation, advocacy and capacity-building of youth-serving organizations. Prior to that, he served as Director of Early Learning and Intervention for the Indiana Department of Education.
“I am honored for the opportunity to continue serving in this new role, and I am looking forward to working closely with Shine’s partners to improve outcomes for children and families,” said Geier.
Geier began his new role on November 7, 2022.
